A quick Sunday entry

A quick Sunday entry. You don't get that very often. But I have a couple of things to report, and you may not get an entry tomorrow since it's a national holiday.

I think I may be entering a mid life crisis. Recently I have developed a hankering to dye my hair blue. I know this sounds strange and I realise that I am too old for such things, but I take the view that one should try these things while one still has enough hair left. So I mentioned it to my wife. I was thinking I could get one of those dyes that washes out in a few weeks, but Asian people all have dark hair and those products simply don't work well on dark hair and aren't available easily here. So my wife, on one of her visits to the salon, asked "Barbie" what could be done. ANd Barbie told her she could help.

When my wife told me about all this, several things went through my mind. First there was doubt about the whole dying issue which, up unitl that point, had only been an idea. Then there was the thought of Barbie, whom I assumed must be a tall, slim, woman with a short skirt and huge bosoms. It was the thought of the huge bosoms that persuaded me. The following day I found myself in the salon. Barbie turned out to be very nice, but short, plump, and dressed in combat fatigues. Funny that my wife didn't mention that. She did have big bosoms however. Two hours later I had blue hair. Rather bluer than I had really bargained for in fact. I rather like it. I wonder if I'll get sacked. Well here's a picture anyway...

I realise that Abby is now laughing so much that she is in pain. But you'll be pleased to know that it is supposed to fade over time and disappear within 6 weeks. I'm not convinced actually. It took a considerable effort to remove some from my finger yesterday. I'll let you know about that anyway. Maybe I should post a picture every Monday to demonstrate the fading effect.

I've been working on a way of migrating this diary to the new web page. I think I have a system worked out and it should be operational, at least in a basic way, some time next week. It may not look pretty, but it will be functional. I think I will continue to leave entries on the open diary site, but I may stop using the Dear Diary site. I can't really decide though, so these embryonic ideas may develop. I'll certainly maintain everything for a while until the new venture is up an running properly.

We've just been to see Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp. I'm not really sure what to say about it. It's quite moving. Johnny Depp is as good as he always is. I wonder how close the film is to what really happened. It's well worth watching. I'd give it 8/10. Go see it.

On the way home we saw a rat the size of a small donkey, just sitting in the street. The people swarming around didn't seem to bother it at all.
